Should I do online education or attend a community college?

online education means i would take classes one at a time, each for 5 weeks, no summer breaks, but more free time during the day. I hope someone who has taken college courses online can inform me.
community colleges most people know about. Please consider all pro’s and con’s. This is a very big decision for me.

I want to take the Vet Tech program through Penn Foster, but my mother dosen’t want me to because she doesn’t think I will get hired by anyone if I were to have an online education. I have been working with small and large animals for 9 years, and I am 100% sure this is the career for me, I want it more than anything.
